Pizzaiola Giorgia Caporuscio Named Pizza Maker of the Year

Pizzeria Don Antonio, credited for ushering authentic, Neapolitan pizza stateside, has placed 7th in this year’s highly anticipated 50 Top Pizza USA Guide.
In addition, Don Antonio's decorated pizzaiola Giorgia Caporuscio was presented with the specialty Ferrarelle Award – Pizza Maker of the Year 2024. In a recent interview with CITITOUR, Caporuscio told us that pizza making is “in my blood,” adding, “I think more people need to see a female run the shop, especially the next generation.”
Along with safeguarding Neapolitan pizza tradition, Giorgia also hopes to encourage other women to join the field. As the Ambassador of “Women in Pizza'', a movement that empowers women in the pizza industry, the significance of this milestone for both Giorgia and the industry worldwide, cannot be understated.
